Create. Wear. Wash. Repeat.

Create. Wear. Wash. Repeat.

Material:
-Cutting Machine (I used my Cricut Explore Air 2)
-Heat Transfer Vinyl (I used Siser EasyWeed® Heat Transfer Vinyl in Navy)
-Shirt
-Washable Markers
-(optional) cardboard or another item that you can put inside the shirt to prevent the ink from bleeding
Instructions:
I opened up a new canvas in Design Space and added the text "Today my creativity looks like...". You can use any font, I found that my kids prefer the fonts that they can color in such as this one which is  Alphabet Soup Std Tilt.

Then I curved my text using the curve feature to make my text into a circle.
Next I headed over images and searched 'outline', I really liked 'Cactus in a Jar'. After selecting it, I inserted the image onto my canvas and centered it in the middle of my texts.
(The circle measures 7.899" ) I chose to highlight both the circle and the image to attach them together because I liked their positioning. Hit 'Make it' in the top right corner if you are ready to cut.
**Make sure to mirror your image since you are using heat transfer vinyl!!!**
After you are done cutting, weed your item and attach it to the shirt; I used my heat press to do this.
As I started coloring the shirt with washable markers my daughter stopped by and decided to help--kids love this project, especially when they find out that you can wash the shirt and they can color again.
If they aren't thrilled about you washing about their masterpiece you can use permanent fabric markers (you can find them on Amazon or any craft store). Also, do not wash your shirt with Easyweed within the first 24 hours of pressing/ironing it.
Until next time, happy crafting!
